Knowing OR Not Knowing?

As foster parents, we get angry when we don't know what the kids who are placed with us have gone through. Sometimes I think if I knew, I could help them.
After a meeting today. I got what I wanted. What happened. How it happened. What he went through. Endured. Survived. Why he crawls into the corner of the crib in terror. Why he sits in a highchair and is happy to watch others play. Why he eats til you no longer put food on the tray.
I don't want to know anymore. I'm beginning to think we or I anyway, do not need to hear everything. There are some things I'm finding, I don't want to know.
It sickens me to realize the damage one human being can inflict on another. It makes me want to throw up when that human is inflicting that damage on their own children.
If your not going to take care of your children. Give them up for adoption, so someone else who wants a child more than anything, Will take care of them.

Oh, poor, poor baby! I can only imagine--and I'm trying hard not to. Praying for him and for you as you try to help him.

Hugs,
Min

These abusers don't think their abusing though. They do it because it makes them feel better, they dont care about who their abusing. Some of them after shaking a baby until brain damage or burning them with ciggs, still say "they love the child".Our kids birthmom still doesn't get why she lost kiddo,um...starving a child until near death,is love...When you have wic and food pantrys practically delivering you the food, yet you still won't feed the kid? They don't get it,which us normal minded folks won't ever get either.I'm sorry for your little guy, bless his heart.

I'm so sorry you have to hear all these ugly things, D.
God has put this child in your home so that the healing can begin for him. Even if he just sits in his high chair, he's safe, fed and sees a kind Mommy smiling at him throughout the day. That's enough for him right now.

Hey D, I know they are hard to hear, but you are right. It does help you help that child. Because you know, you will be certain that no hint or shadow of what happened in that other life will enter this one. It was much harder for the child to live through than it was for you to hear about it, but because you did, you can start putting the pieces back together for him. Your strength can become his strength. Did you ever hear the song that has the lyrics "I will be praying for you, for your soul will be tested by the work that you do." It's not written for foster parents, but it should be. I will be praying for you.

It's unbelievable the harm that a sick mind can do to innocent children. It makes me sooooo ANGRY! What is WRONG with people! Praying for baby!
