How Can I

Raise your hand if you know the answer & not everybody at one time...
How can I take care of this new baby
WithOut:
Knowing how old he is.
Taking him to the Dr, which is required, without having Med*caid (& you've not applied for it)
Having daycare for him (because you want return my calls about CAPs)
*No clothing
*No diapers
No idea why he's in care (they are not at liberty to tell me) hahahehehohoho, PLEASE!
No paperwork saying he's been placed in my home.
But I betcha when when the court says he has to have visitation with whoever, I better get my butt in gear and have him there when & where & for how long THEY say to. And they better be able to get in touch with me when they want.
*Yes, he has clothes & diapers,(good thing I was too lazy to put The Boy's last year's winter clothes away) but not when he got here.
I guess I'll just sit here til someone from there decides they need something from me.
By the way, I have no idea why any of this surprises me or grates on my last nerve. They do it every time. I think I always think they'll do it the right way "this time".
**added: A few of you have asked how The boy is taking this. He is his usual self. the world revolves around him. Thus the Baby does not exist. He does his thing and the Baby does his.Which is cry. The Boy said,"Baby makes alot of Loud noise!" Yep, he sure does.

Our fostering contract guaranteed us that we had the right to know why a child had been placed with us. Interesting that they'd hold out on you. Can they at least tell you how long he'll be there? Good grief...how can you provide for his emotional well-being if you don't even know anything about him?

We still have NO paperwork saying kiddo can be with us,nothing saying shes in our care,we signed no ageements. Its been almost 2 months. They won't return any of my calls, yet like you said,I better answer when they call! This always makes me say,"I will NEVER do this again"!But,here we sit.

I feel for you,we are right their, its terrible

Oh my gosh! I am appalled. Not being able to take him to the doctor is unacceptable. Here if the kid isn't on Medicaid yet, then you can take them to the doctor and have CPS billed.

Once we didn't get paperwork on some kids we had, never signed anything actually even after they left. That social worker sucks and I hate having to deal with her. The rest have all brought paperwork either upon placement or within a couple of days.

It seems that knowing why he was in care would help you to take care of him. To comfort him, to not do or say something that might trigger something in him, to empathize with him, etc. I don't understand why they aren't giving you more information and assistance. Like you though, I am surprised each time even though it happens so frequently I shouldn't be surprised at all.

Do you think they would get the ball rolling if you called them every day and pestered them until they did their jobs correctly?

Nah, me either, but it's all I could come up with. good luck

D, I know you can somehow weed through all the incompetance and eventually get the information you need. I'm just so sad and heartbroken for baby's past. I hope he can heal from the horror.
