JULY 31st COMES QUICKLY

JULY 31st COMES WITH A VENGENCE! 'TIS THE DAY OF RECKONING. TPR (TERMINATION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS) will be done on our boy. However, we found out a little kicker. There was a sibling taken from the birth mother in another county a few weeks back and we're not sure the impact this will have on his adoption. Here, in our state, siblings are kept together almost at all costs. But our little man has been in the "system" for nearing 13 months. So were not sure what bearing if any this will have.

wait, wait, wait. And so many IF's, it's one of many reasons I fear puting everything out there, emotionally speaking. What if something happens? What if she wants him back. She has 30 days from TPR to come back and say, "oh I was busy for the last 13 months and would like to have him back now". That would kill us both. And I know we can't do another baby (his sibling) Unless God help me, He has yet another surprise for me.

A special thanks to perri for her wonderful advice and her friend Heidi too. You'll never know how much it means to have an understanding ear to hear you out!

please pray for us that this will go smoothly!

"A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself." (Joseph Campbell)

Like Larry-Boy from Veggie-Tales, YOU ARE THAT HERO. Very few of us have the privilige to change a life; you do -- and this baby is so darn lucky. My best friend was a foster parent who adopted a child in her care, and I marvel EVERY DAY at the wonderful life that has opened up to him because of her and her husband's selflessness.

As far as the age issue... pshaw. Forty and fifty are not what they used to be -- heck, SIXTY isn't what it used to be. What you lose in the crazy energy of youth, you will make up for in wisdom that only age brings, patience, and good grief! -- ready made babysitters in your older kids!

You are in my prayers this evening. Goodnight, hero.

Being that you have been a lurker on my blog you may have read that when we first saw the kids on the adoption website we only said "GOD your will be DONE." It was Never a I WANT these kids. It was only saying God we have open hands/open hearts to serve these children but your will be done in our lives and these children's lives.

Praying for God's will in this situation. No matter how it all works out God will give you a peace.

Maybe it's the same as it is in Indiana. Once TPR goes through - he has NO siblings except your children, so there is "keeping them together" to be considered.

Wesley also had 2 siblings born after we had him. They never contacted us about even taking them when they went into care and they have TPR this month also. We weren't contacted about adoption because he is not considered their brother.

But remember what I said about adopting more than one? Maybe.........
